CORRACHREE CROSS COUNTRY COURSE
AND ONE DAY EVENT HISTORY
The
Cross Country course at Corrachree began life with a few fallen trees
in a field – great fun for everyone who kept their horses here.
Corrachree is owned by David and Anne Milner-Moore. In 1998 David had kidney Cancer and survived. In the autumn of 2004 Anne had cancer followed by chemotherapy at the Anchor Unit of Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
In the spring of 2005 we thought it would be appropriate to organise an equestrian event to raise money for Cancer Research UK and the Anchor Unit. We opted for a low key One Day Event, the cross country section was held in the field with the fallen trees and a few new jumps.
The 2005 event proved so popular that we spent the next winter building – with a lot of local help – a full length one and a half mile cross country course. Each year the course has been improved and new and more technical jumps built.
David has built a complete set of show jumping wings and annually painted all the poles and fillers. He has become expert at setting out the dressage arenas, and ensuring that the surface is as lawn like as he can make it.
In 2009 there were over 100 entries.
The Event is run under Pony Club Rules
We have had wonderful sponsorship support from friends and local businesses and have been able over the five years to give over £13,000 to the charities.

In addition to the annual One Day Event, the Course is open for hire for practice either for groups or individuals
